jock--i'm puzzled about your job situation--if youre able to take several months off to go to the philis ?

as you will be sharing accommodation--you will need more proof of suitability--such as a survey---to prove it wont be " overcrowded "

    passport sized photos---?

my work is aware im going through the visa application process and have given me so much time off work paid/unpaid..

hmm this proof of suitability is it really necessary ? its a 3 bedhouse with only my mother & step father living in it so there`s more than enough room.. if its required then so be it just another charge i guess..

e2a:: sorry yes it will be my wife that needs to include passport photos..

Hi @jock_in_a_frock! I don't think there's a need for you to have your payslips stamped. My fiance just printed it off of their HR platform and that's what we submitted. The bank documents should be in the bank's letterhead. If those were printed off online, then they should be stamped by the bank.

Yeah i emailed our HR department and got a letter to confirm all payslips are true and certified copies.. if they dont need to be stamped then that would save me a journey to our head office !!

ive read on here that others have arranged a survey in conjunction with a floor plan and photos of the rooms. hopefully others will pick up on this and add comments.. i dont think the survey is expensive--and if i were in your shoes i wouldnt want to risk the visa app fee if the rest of the app is straightforward.

do bear in mind your most recent payslip needs to be within 28 days of your online app-----if your thinking of taking leave beforehand

Personally I'd definitely have a survey done when sharing accommodation, it takes that element of risk out of the application.

I submitted my Council Tax (which included a single occupant discount - my proof that I was the only one in the house), Yearly mortgage statement & Land Registry document which showed me as the owner of the property. As suggested, if others are in the house it's better to be safe than sorry and get some proof.

Yes i was aware of this but when i am there i will be paid for 2 more weeks and get payslips weekly so HR will email these on to me and i can print these out when i`m there.. but we are hoping to apply within 3 weeks of me arriving there, and i will go for the survey i`ve emailed 1 company for a quote already..

thx for the reply`s guys !

Good morning all.. so were finalizing out paper work for the visa app.. im wondering say for ticket stubbs etc would it ok to print say several on 1 piece of paper ? as we can obviously hand in 1 pile of originals but for the copy application i was thinking just print maybe 4 ticket stubs on 1 piece of paper.. also to include photos as proof of our relationship would printed copies be suffice ? i,e not printed on normal photo paper?..

lastly the covering letter from her parents ( or is it just her mother ? ) what should they mention ? is it more or less just say confirm were in a marriage and i`ve been accepted into the family when we met etc etc ? obviously her parents cant write in English so she will have to write it for them and get them to sign it im assuming that would be suffice also ?

    tia...

As i understand it..you only need to submit copies of stuff you want back. We didn't hand in copies of photos and Facebook screenshots...just the important original docs..like bank statements.

Bigmac is right, only supply copies of documents you want back, one word of advice, it is a good idea to keep for yourself a copy of the application as it will come in handy for your next visa application.

Regarding a letter from the loved ones parents, it is not required but if you think it will help then go ahead, your joint letter should really cover everything.

ah ok i thought i read somewhere it was required.. so most important is our own letters stating the reasons why we wish to be together, ok cool thx for your input..

I know some members have included such a letter from the loved ones parents but if you have plenty of evidence your relationship is genuine then I do not believe its worth the bother.

I'm sure that the UKVI are more interested in fact that can be backed up with paperwork, at the end of the day anybody could be writing such a letter, even the joint letter is not a requirement but I personally feel it is a good idea to include it without a shadow of doubt.

Remember that you need a letter from your parents relating to you and the missus sharing the house, leave no room for the case worker to question your application.

I aired on the side of caution and made 2 folders exactly the same copied everything, multiple receipts one piece of paper, airline tickets and stubs one paper. Overkill maybe but we had a successful application

We do overkill extremely well here at British Filipino, I bet there isn't one visa applicant on the forum who hasn't gone OTT with the application :)
