I started it last night and there's jus a drop box to choose the length u need, I noticed it says intended date of travel, is it just the first initial trip they are asking for? As we looking for two years visa ao there will be more than one trip
just put the date you intend to travel--see if they issue the visa in time. but dont book a flight till you get the visa.
I started another thread a few hours ago giving specific details of my friend's relationship with his Filipina gf and subsequent intention to apply for a Visitor Visa. As stated in the other thread, I live in Angeles City, Pampanga, and have been tasked with assisting them in the application; the girl went to a Visa Agent here in AC and was quoted P100,000 as their likely Visa Assistance fee, not a small sum, he fainted and I laughed when she told us! My question is this, the 12 pages of forms to be completed and submitted DON'T look so awfully daunting, my advice to him was to save the money as I couldn't fathom what possible knowledge they could impart, greater than reading this forum, UNLESS UK Immigration LIKE to see that an agent has been used? Perhaps it proves to some extent, the seriousness with which the applicant and her sponsor are approaching the application? Brendan
a 100k pp visa assisstance fee--thats about £1400---isnt it ? a visit visa is only about £90. does your friend like having his bum spanked ?
You're a good friend and I think you were right in telling your friend to save his money instead. P100k is no joke, and not worth in applying any kind of visa. In regards to proving the seriousness of their relationship for their application, the applicant and the sponsor have to submit documents/evidences that would convince the ECO that the relationship is genuine and that the applicant has compelling reasons to return to her country (if applying for a visit visa).
me and my gf was told same thing when she applied from the Philippines, I did it from here ( UK ) in the end like bigmac says its around £90 for a visit visa for 6 months
bigmac, is there a time limit as such, like can I start application now for a intended travel date in October or is it only up to 3 months before?
Indeed it is, a huge sum in comparison to the actual fee I agree, seems totally unreasonable, but then you know the Pinoy mentality where business is concerned, why charge a reasonable amount and attract 10 clients if you can charge an obscene amount and collect the same amount from just one poor schmuck! On a side note, my limited understanding of THIS Visa, is that there is NO requirement for the applicant to visit the British Embassy in Manila? A number of the "experts" I canvassed yesterday, when asked what they provided for P100K "visa assistance", made a big deal about their role AT the Embassy when the applicant had to go for an interview, when I questioned the validity of this statement I got the "deer in the head lights" stare, so I desisted from arguing my point, since I wasn't perfectly sure I was correct!
No appearance really for any type of visa for the UK to my knowledge. The applicant however needs to submit the documents at VFS (a third party company hired by the embassy) since the biometrics is required and will be done then.
Did Did I read that right? After 3 months of going back to Cebu from UK, you've applied for another 6 months tourist visa for the second time around and it was successful? What are your strong ties that you wrote in your letter? I've just went back from UK last 2 weeks and planning to go again after my visa expires in July this year. I fell in love with UK (aside from the fact that my bf lives there. Haha). I'm planning to apply in August for the second time around of tourist visa then if the application would be successful, will go back to UK as soon as the visa is valid. Do you think it would be possible to apply again?
