On the waiting game as well. We applied for spouse visa. Biometrics we're taken Feb 16, now on our 42 working days. 3 holidays taken off . Getting more anxious each day. Hoping and praying for positive result.

Oh gosh! We only count the days from where I had my biometrics. So, will it be longer than 3 months? How long really is the waiting game?

I took my biometrics on 24 Feb. Silly me! I only count the days from when I took it. How long do we really have to wait? I'm so worried as we plan to get married in June and I haven't even done any preparation for the wedding yet!

I think the waiting time varies and a case to case basis. At the moment the ukvi website says it's 60 working days but I understand it can take up to 90, hope we won't have to wait for that long.

I feel you tho, we can't make any plans til we get a decision.

So it's not been 60 working days yet. I know how you feel. The agony of waiting. It's not easy. You can't plan something and even book a ticket. Just try to relax and pray. With all the holidays it might take longer but I don't think it will take up to 90 days.

This forum has been invaluable to us during our fiancee visa journey and today I received my passport with the entry clearance on it! Thank you to all of you who have shared your experiences and knowledge! I was at VFS on the 15th of March to submit my documents and have my biometrics taken, got the email last night that the decision on our application had been made, and received my passports and documents this morning- less than 60 calendar days.

Can anyone tell me though if we would need to book a round trip ticket or can I opt for a one way ticket to England?

    Congratulations on getting your visa.

The ticket depends on you but you are not required to show a return ticket coz you are on a settlement visa. But if you are planning on going back to the Philippines for a short time then you can book a return ticket.

But if not, one way ticket is okay.

A return ticket is often cheaper flying out of the RP for example I fly ny wife's daughter out on the 17th of this month on her settlement visa, after extensive research on single versus return ticket we got a return for 470 gbp against a single of £617 no brainer really a return even though you may not use the second leg makes financial sense.

But, I'm afraid to get a return ticket ba use the immigration may stop me as I have a settlement visa in which I should stay in UK to get married and after the wedding. Isn't it safer to get one way ticket? I've been looking at flights, the two way ticket is more expensive than the one way. What are the best website to book a flight?

No it doesn't matter if you have a return ticket they won't stop you. The visa is all you need oh and the CFO.

I agree with @Mattecube that it makes financial sense if it's cheaper to book a return ticket.

I'm just trying to point out that you are not required to get a return ticket so one way is always fine.

Thank you! I guess I'll look at the other websites for flights again, because at moment the one way ticket cost around £700 which is way too much

Ours was £517 for the daughter and here's another trick our daughter ticket reads like this
    Manila to Heathrow outward
    Heathrow to Delhi return
This produced the cheapest fare! Good hey

Congrats @jellabean and @kylie30 on your visa! I am new here and just starting the journey :)

I wrote my landlord's consent letter, which I believe my agent should be doing but he is unresponsive! It's short and straightforward. Here's how it goes:

I (name of landlord), landlord of (address) hereby confirm that (sponsor's name) is the head tenant of the said property. I have been informed that Mr. Sponsor has invited his fiancee, Ms. Applicant (my name) to join him in the UK. Should Ms. Applicant be granted a visa, I am happy for both to reside in the property for the duration of the contract.

Short description of the house here.

Thats it. Have I missed anything important? We will attach the tenancy agreement, so full details of the tenancy should be there. Also, I dont know the address of UKVI ECO, too many different addresses, not sure which is the correct one to use.

Change " should to when" and I would put in that there is no foreseeable reason why the tenancy agreement will not be extended at the appropriate time

I guess the letter is good, but I can't help you that much really because my fiancé and I will be living in his father's house so we only had a letter similar to that signed by dad saying that he's aware and letting me to stay at that house with his contact details at the bottom
