Brexit and Scexit

I read this light hearted piece the other day. Sad but true.

UK We want a rebate on fees
EU Ok
UK We don't want to be in the Euro
EU Ok
UK We don't want to be in the Schengen either
EU Ok
UK We want a restriction on benefits until people have been here for some time
EU Ok
UK We want to stop child benefits being paid to kids who are not here
EU Ok
UK We want to kick out people who come here that don't work and can't afford to keep themselves.
EU Ok, but you can already do this
UK WE want lots of preferential treatment that the other countries don't get.
EU Errr, we can't give you that unless all the other countries agree
UK Don't give us what we want and we will leave

I don't believe anyone on the Brexit side of this debate has stated that Remainers are "lying scum", "a bunch of lying blow hards and crypto-fascists", "jerks" or "devious creeps", words that have been deployed by an individual who has decided not to accept the democratic decision of the British public and who belongs to a party hell-bent on undermining and/or reversing the Brexit process.

Some people will believe anything written in the red top press: "The Sun Sez" so it must be true!

You don't watch any of Andrew Neil's shows, then, on the BBC? He regularly describes those who won't accept the referendum result as "Remoaners". I've even heard the term used during a news programme. You'd better write a letter to the Guardian informing them that their tame broadcaster is off-message!

Neither of those terms comes remotely close to the insults our side has been subjected to by one of your folk - not by you, I hasten to add.

Firstly, you are indicating I believe everything I read in the papers. I don't even buy the papers.

Secondly, you are proposing that I listen to one side of the story (the Government's) and nothing else. I'm a natural skeptic and prefer to read from more than one source.

I listen to the words of the Prime Minister and the Brexit team, newspapers are always trying to make a story bigger than it actually is to sell newspapers.
