I notice Matt Hancock said today that those hit badly by the Indian virus have been amongst those not yet vaccinated
Another bit of good news PCR tests to be free for tourists visiting France this summer France is currently one of the only countries in Europe to provide free PCR tests for tourists. They can cost over €100 per test in other countries Europe 1-CNews-Les Echos about travel in Europe this summer, including PCR testing and the planned European digital green certificate for travel. The digital green certificate will help ease travel between countries in Europe as it will contain information about the health status of passengers. In order to travel, passengers need to have been vaccinated against Covid-19 or to have taken a negative PCR test at least 48 hours beforehand. PCR tests may also be required upon arrival in a destination country. Read more: How to obtain a French test to return to the UK In Sweden, PCR tests can cost up to €300. In the UK, people are not allowed to use free PCR tests provided by the national health service for travel purposes. Instead, travellers to and from the UK must use tests provided by private firms with an average cost per test of £120. In Spain, PCR tests can cost up to €120 even though the European Parliament has advised all EU countries to provide PCR tests for free. Mr Beaune said, “I cannot say today whether all countries will do that.” The option of a fixed price for PCR tests across all EU countries is also being considered. Mr Beaune’s office later confirmed that it is too early to say the extent to which France will open to international tourism this summer, or how many tourists may visit France. The NHS app, Vaccine Passport page although that is not what it is actually called. I cut out and vandalised the QR Code as I assume that it identifies me and I'm not sure exactly how much info you need to take out of a QR code to render it unreadable The screen scrolls down to show the two vaccinations and interestingly the QR code has an expiry so I am guessing that it gets refreshed every couple of days when you come into this part of the program. Note this is not the Covid-19 app it is the NHS app which is pretty good in its own right.
I have a Covid Vaccination Certificate now. I am not sure how useful it would be abroad though. It was issued through “My GP”
I can't remember what it's original questions were the NHS number was definitely one of them. It is this app here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nhs.online.nhsonline It looks like this if you cancel the fingerprint login, although it has a lot of negative reviews I've never had any problems with it.
My info isn't up to date they haven't got my second jab on it (8.05 .2021) and ringing 119 was hopeless.
Oddly enough I got the expression from a lady. A solicitor at that. She hates the Tories and often laces her vitriol with expletives about them. I like the nick name she gives him, however it doesn’t necessarily reflect my political beliefs.
So...Mrs Ash has booked her Covid jab first appointment. They are now doing 32 yo and over. No mention of vaccine choice yet.
Some people are going away now and are booking holidays for this summer. I will not be going abroad this year, things can change too quickly and I would not relax anywhere else. Britons should not be holidaying in Spain yet, says UK minister: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/ukne...yet-says-uk-minister/ar-AAKjLlz?ocid=msedgntp
I think as I have said before on the foriegn holiday front, if the holiday is in August chances are the European situation will be vastly improved. August is after all a couple of months away and all the covid cases with the exception of UK are showing a general trend downwards and vaccination rates trends are upwards. This coupled with how you arrange the holiday mitigates risk. For us we have a flexi ferry ticket that's all we need.
Dohh i was looking forward to relaxing on a benidorm beach..swigging lager with a million other brits.
August is only 9 weeks away. I hope Covid-19 continues to recede and that you and your dear wife will be able to have a relaxing time. (I miss Spain). How long will you be going for, as you have a flexi ferry ticket? Will you be driving down through France or out from Santander?
