Even being in Benidorm sounds like fun after these claustrophobic 18 months.

Benidorm is underrated, its actually really nice, I was in a villa in javea but used to go to Benidorm often as it was really nice.... And I have never even tasted lager :)

We are going last week of August so about 13 to 14 weeks away.
The flexi ferry ticket allows us to move our dates at 72 hours or more notice.
Going from Calais down to Millau viaduct ( tallest bridge in the world so i read) then coastal drive to Barcelona down to Siera Nevada area (mojacar) then up to the Somport tunnel to Lourdes, Dordogne Calais away about 5 weeks about 2500 miles but big lumps at start at the end and Mojacar to Somport Tunnel.

Javea is a nice town, and there are many little towns in that area that are very picturesque.
The oranges there are first class and the paella is wonderful in that region.
    Viva España :)

Javea in 2016, it is very nice, not too touristy.

Stayed at my friend's and his wife's place at that time, the grounds were full of Orange trees.

Xabia (javea) just off the E15 is just off our route although we will be using the E15 to meander down.

I rented a villa in javea for six months, really nice place, but not as nice as my friend 'arry' s who bought one for half a million quid, I was staying in urbanizacion El tossalette think that's the spelling? Used to go out fishing from moraira, but there's not much there, the sea is quite empty.

Yes, the Med has been over-fished.

It wasn't this one was it, this was owned by an 'arry' :) this guy was a writer for the mainstream soaps.

I spent a weekend in this one with the same friends I mentioned earlier who were renting it, my first visit to Spain.

Xabia, Javea umpteen different spellings on the road signs :)

The shaded porch area is lovely.
Have to have lots of citronella in the evening when the mossies come out.

Massively, however I had a boat, I was out of moraira? 20 odd miles offshore one day, April I think, we were surrounded by hundreds, maybe thousands of migrating tuna, we also used to see big sunfish, once a turtle, and whales on occassion.
I can't imagine a nice guy like yourself spending time in the company of this 'arry, he is a bit of an east-end London wide-boy :ninja:

No the 'arry' was the owner, my pal and his wife were renting his villa for a period of about 6 or 7 months and would invite me out for short stays, this place had a separate extra two story building for guests which I tried out for one of the nights but I also stayed in the main building as well.

I found the 'arry' :) Harry Duffin an award winning British screenwriter.

In terms of relevance to this thread my friend and his wife would love to get back out to Spain their plan was to retire and spend most of the year every year in Spain in and around the Xabia area.

I've just arrived in Porto. Working some flights for a certain game of football this evening.

    My words of advice.

Do not use Myhealthcare for your PCR tests. There are a lot of Chelsea fans who have been let down by this company. They were in a state of anxiousness (as you can imagine) when I left Gatwick at 7.30am as their results had not come through as promised. It looks like Myhealthcare has managed to lose their tests entirely. Those fans must be devastated!

Not much fun if you are a Chelsea fan looking forward to being at the game.
