Few questions for UK Spouse visa from Manila

My wife will apply for UK spouse visa from Philippines. I will appreciate your help. Thanks

    1) Online visa application asks about her employment details in Philippines, like employer name/address, salary etc. Does she need to get an employment letter from employer and submit with application to support employment details? Does she also need to submit payslips, tax returns etc, as visa form is asking her salary after tax?

    2) VFS Manila will take biometrics. Does she still need to submit her photograph as per UKVI guidelines?

    3) I am British citizen. Do I need to send certified copy of my passport biopage? Or a simple photocopy is sufficient?

    4) For accommodation requirement in UK, I own a house in UK. Is it ok if she submits photocopy of Land Registry, OR does it need to be certified?

    5) For financial requirement, I will send UK bank statement with cash savings of more than £100k. I read in Appendix FM1.7 that I need to send declaration for source of cash savings. Do I need to send a separate letter mentioning my savings are from previous employment in UK with my signature?

    6) If I am sponsor and sending UK bank statements with cash savings, does my wife need to include her bank statements from Philippines too? I am asking because Appendix 2 asks about her cash savings too.

Are you sure they are asking for her employment details and not yours? I don't recall having to provide any details of this and it is your finances they are interested in.

    hi profile--welcome to the site.

1: application doesnt require info about the applicants job or eanings.

    2: yes

3:certified copy required. my solicitor did it free.

4: certified copy is best. are you the sole occupant ?

5: most recent 6 months bank satements required: originals plus a copy--not just a photocopy. write a letter stating source of the savings.

6: you ARE the sponsor. as your savings meet the requirement--no need to include your wife's.

Under the employment section, they are asking about applicant details. It's definitely for my wife. When you choose Yes to employment, then further employment details are asked. You might have chosen NO to employment, so that's why you didn't see those emplyment questions

Application definitely asks for applicant employment details i.e. my wife's employment. The questions only are shown when you choose, Yes, I am employed.

Can you pls send official link which shows Certified copy of passport required, as I can't find it anywhere on gov.uk?

Best to submit certified copy of passport, it only costs around £5 for your solicitor to do this, note that not all solicitor offices are willing to do this, best to ring round first.

    1. For simplicity sake just say NO to employment details.

    2. Yes.

    3. It's okay if it's not certified. If you don't mind it being certified and pay a bit then go for it.

    4. She needs the original Land Registry Title. Don't you have it?

    5. Yes do that.

    6. You don't need her bank statements. If you meet the requirement with your savings alone then don't send her bank statements. It will confuse the ECO.

I have copy of Land registry title which is dated 2 years ago, as that's the time I bought house. Do I need to get new Land Registry title with recent date? Thanks

If Land registry title is dated from 2 years ago, is it still acceptable?

Just get a new one like we did. It's not that expensive anyway, I think.

I'm sure you will find numerous photo booths in the shopping centres around there.

I will send my documents from UK to my wife in Philippines. Do you think Royal Mail International delivery is safe enough? Is there any better courier company that I should use? Thanks

Land Registry has 2 options: online copy for £3 and official copy for £7. Official copy needs to be applied by post. Which one shall I use for spouse visa?
