    Sorry if I am mistaken,

I thought you pointed that out when replying to an earlier post.

But when will anyone notice? and will they still get the £300 a day. No wonder Farage wants to join, he needs a replacement for his MEP allowance.

May isn't the one at all using EU nationals as a bargaining chip, she was one wanting to sort their status out before triggering article 50 but Tusk and Merkel threw it out according to the Jeremy Vine show today.

Nigel would be great in the Lords, he'd wake a few of the old dears up :)

You have to admit, Nigel is by far the best MP we have never had, it would have been an absolute pleasure to see him performing in the Commons :)

Alas, I think he has too many business interests now to keep him occupied, I am however pleased to see him popping up on the news keeping Mrs May and Brexit on track :)

I disagreed with everything he said and in fact foudn some of the things inciteful, but he was very good in the EU Parliament, when he bothered to turn up that is.

Didn't this thread start up with the anachronism that the Lords is?

How about the European Convention on Human Rights and specifically the 'right to family life' whose provisions apply to everyone in the UK except British citizens.

You indicated disagreement with this post:
Are you hoping Brexit will fail? Most of those who voted to Remain do accept they lost and now want to see a successful outcome. You appear to be a member of a shrinking minority of mainly LibDems and Greens who are in total denial and want the referendum re-run repeatedly until the British electorate vote for the 'correct' option.

Farage wanted a knighthood but his party's only MP, Douglas Carswell, refused to support his appointment. Knights are not Peers of the Realm and therefore do not sit in the House of Lords.

The Lords has become an anachronism for political leaders to reward their cronies and ensure the place is stuffed with their political placemen for occasions such as we currently have. There are far too many peers most of whom don't bother to turn up whilst some milk the system by dashing in, signing the register and back out again to their waiting taxi: this enables them to claim their £300 per diem. And for this we can thank Tony Blair.

Just to correct your post (above) Mark, you appear to have accidentally misquoted my reply to Max, in which I pointed out that he will not be living in the EU for much longer.

I know that Brexit has to be a success. Having lived and worked in the "wealthy bit" of the EU on many occasions, I realised over 20 years ago that being in the EU was most definitely not in the best interests of our country or the British people.

This is not an EU body and we will still be bound by it AFTER Brexit , check your facts before making statements
My political affilitations are irrelvant. The majority of the tory and labour MPs in parliament are / were remain supporters. I'm not sure which side BoJo is actually on mind. I guess they don't know anything either being so close to the facts. Also its not a shrinking minority, check your facts before making statements. Many Remainers have accepted their fate but it doesn't mean they or I will let it be rail roaded through without debate or scrutiny. That's how fascism starts when you mix it with xenophobia, racism, anti-semitism, islamophobia, homophobia, all on the rise in the past 12 months.

Nuttall pledged to elevate Farage into the House of Lords.

I'm against the Lords ( Us lib dems and grens y'know wanted it scrapped ages ago but the right whingers won't let go, vested interests and family money I guess. ) Tony Blair added peers because it was jam packed with Tories after three terms of Thatcher. He also introduced working peers which was a complete shock to the tory duffers asleep in the ermin. Cameron, instead of reforming, just added a load more.

No mistake, sir :). Max has marked your post "disagree" and it is that unstated comment that I pursued in my message.

Not necessarily, that depends on whether or not the government decides to repeal the Human Rights Act post-Brexit. This is rather likely as the Tories favour replacing it with a "British Bill of Rights".

And of course Clegg didn't elevate any of his cronies .....

How ironic that you oppose the very place that seeks to frustrate the government's plans with which you disagree and, although highly unlikely, might provide your side's salvation!

If he could be bothered to turn up.

    FARAGE (adj)
To Farage - Oppose EU immigration whilst cuddling up to an EU Migrant at night.
To Farage - To oppose a parliament whilst sitting in the same claiming expenses for a wife who he employs but doesn't enjoy (yep the Lords is what he wants)
Farage'd - To be promised something only for that promise to be rescinded minutes after winning a vote. E.g. £350m for the NHS
Farage'd - To hear someone claim they'll fight for you, only for that person to spend time in a pub instead of a debate. E.g. The many fishing votes Farage and his party have missed.

Was there no House of Lords before 1007?
