You only need to update the BRP name if you change the name in your passport, the BRP name should always match the name in your passport.

Here's what it said in the BRP,

Report a change of circumstances if you have a visa or BRP
Show all parts of this guide
    1. You're in the UK and have a BRP
    2. You're in the UK and have a visa
    3. You're outside the UK
    1. You're in the UK and have a BRP
You must report any changes if you’re in the UK and have either:

    • got a biometric residence permit (BRP)
    • applied for a BRP but haven’t had a decision yet
How you do this depends on what you’re reporting.

Report a change of address only
You can change your address without having to apply for a new BRP.

Which form you fill in depends on whether you:

    Report all other changes
You must report all other changes to your circumstances. How you do this depends on what’s changed.

Changes to your name or personal details
You must apply for a new BRP straight away if any of these things change:

    • name, eg if you’ve got married
    • nationality
    • facial appearance
    • date of birth, eg if it was wrong
    • gender
How you report the change and apply for a newBRP depends on whether you have:

You must apply for a new BRP within 3 months. You can be fined up to £1,000 or have your stay shortened if you don’t.

Mark and I are looking on applying uk spouse visa rather than uk fiancée visa. He will be coming over to Philippines to see me again and meet my family. He's only staying for 2 weeks. Is two weeks too short to get married, such as applying for marriage license? Where can Mark get the certificate of legal capacity to contract marriage? Can I apply for marriage license just by giving all the requirements, so when mark comes, we can get married straight away here in Philippines?

Click on the first link of the attached thread, it will give you a good incite into what is required when marrying in the Philippines.

We looked at getting married in Dubai then the Philippines and yes I was put off too with the hassle.

I think in our cases where all parties had been married before it was not important to marry in the Philippines for the wife's families sake.

What I did mine was had my husband get non impediment of marriage first coz it will take 28 days to get that. Send him the marriage application from the local office. He fill up his portion then have it stamp to a solicitor send it back to me. Then when he arrived we went to the embassy to get the affidavit/affirmation. Gave all the requirements to the local office then set our wedding the next day. Will be easy if u do civil wedding. Coz u can do everything on ur part. My husband got 2 weeks only when we got married here.

Thanks for the reply. Can Mark get the non impediment in uk? How long will the affidavit/affirmation to process? And does the marriage license really take 10 days for it to arrive?

Hey there - we applied for our settlement (wife) visa 2 weeks ago now - according to the UKVI website the lead time for decisions in Manila is 60 working days (for 99% of cases) - does anyone know what is the quickest anyone has received a visa without paying the priority fee?

That's sort of a "how long is a piece of string" question, it appears 6 - 8 weeks, I have not heard of any application taking 3 months.

Yes but I remember seeing a post somewhere on this forum that someone had a 2 week turnaround for a spouse visa without priority service - my expectation is 6 -8 weeks TBH - expect the worst, hope for the best.............

    That's right people have had their applications processed within two weeks but its not the norm if this forum is anything to go by. They do say that seasonal occurrences like students applying for visas etc has a bearing on the decision time. Take a look at the Government website below to give you a rough idea;

Yes that's where I got my 60 working day expectation from - I just wish I could get my wife here in time for the English summer

    Hello Kylie

We did it in 2 weeks but we had to plan a lot in advance, right from getting the affadavit at the embassy on the first Monday through to the wedding on the Friday of the following week (10 working days later) - it was very tight but we did it!

Make sure you book the affidavit appointment before he arrives in pinas - you can't do anything without that

Considering you only put the papers into VFS on Dec 22, and taking Xmas hols into consideration, I'd say that was close to 4 weeks turnaround mate - well played, gives me hope
