NO different for us if we lived and worked in the EU though. Exactly the same entitlement.

this cant be right. theres enough public outcry about EEA immigrants in the UK----let alone the idea they can import future partners without paying the same costs as us UK residents.

    its ridiculous.

How many EU couples (and that's what they are) do you know who pay anything to come to the UK?

That's the beauty and the reason for the SS route, that's how people have beaten the financial requirement, not many people I know could go that route.

the few EEA immigrants ive come across ( my dentist---car washers ) are economic migrants working here and supporting their families back home.

i cant actually believe its so easy for an EEA immigrant working here can just bring in a future partner----and both get all the expensive benefits available---just for the cost of a visit visa.

but surely if i was living and working in a EEA country i would have had to pay any local fees to bring in a wife or future partner ?

By the way, because you have the wording "Family member of EU Resident" on your Residence Permit it allows you to travel to a lot of the Schengen countries without need for a visa.

    Another big bonus :)

From what Im reading in the news Brexit isnt going to be fix-all that some people think it will be. Ive read articles regards India and Australia pressuring the government to do the right thing by their respective citizens and we haven't even exited yet.

i must admit i wasnt too clued up on surindher singh--i wrongly assumed that any UK person going to live and work in the EEC---and bringing his / her partner over---would be liable for any visa costs that country would have in place----but would be entitled to bring her / him back into the UK in the future without being liable for UK settlement visa fees.

but this thread has really opened my eyes.
