I agree with that, no point in going halfway around the world to earn minimum, I know flips (pinoy version of brits) in Canada and florida who went with nowt, started off earning minimum but put the hours in and used their education to carve out very nice lifestyles indeed with houses to die for.

Enjoy your holiday. Hopefully you will be allocated a nice hotel once you return to the U.K. :like:

If you meant that I would say thanks but here is a thing,
France going red tomorrow or Thursday when Shapps does the review? well there is no informed noise on France or Spain going red so I will go with the informed, Thanks
This holiday yes has been a gamble all along I am aware of that and always have been but Freedom not Fear rules, I reckon Ive covered all my bases Flexi ferry ticket (can be carried over at no extra cost for one year) zero accommodation costs paid out yet!
Our route first week going down, 2 weeks down in Spain, 4th week coming back up so if Shapps moved France into the red in our 4th week he normally grants till the following sunday for travellers to get back we will be in the war graves area at this point, the ports unlike the airports are fairly slow at the moment due to imports and exports being down, so I reckon there will be plenty of scope for getting back, or we could just stay there and use my pension and property income!
Sadly it looks like Paris will be missed our decision high pockets of covid but Paris is a short weekend flight away at a better time.

I do hope you get your holiday later this year:lol::lol: :like:try and remember to stay in the same hotel as you're family

    Latest is:

“ISRAEL PM - the vaccines last 6 months, then you will require a booster

Confirming you will be considered unvaccinated by the Vaccine Passport until you get your booster.”

    Thanks I missed That!
That is the day they moved Israel into Europe.

Israel's vaccination programme started earlier than almost anyone else and got to a higher coverage of their population than almost any other country earlier than anyone else, so its experience is relevant to the rest of us in terms of what to expect in future.

It's relevant because the whole pandemic is not over and the future actions that countries decide to take will be driven by the results coming out of countries like Israel.

As vaccines wear off countries could start imposing restrictions on which vaccinated people they let in and at what time.

All of what you've written I am fully aware of fully understand and fully somethings else!
The bit I was referring to that I had missed was Israel being part of Europe.
You said in a post not sure which one that you were on holiday Sat at home in your tiny flat with nowhere to go and nothing to do, I for one am not prepared to waste my life in that sort of scenario when I can live a bit.

It would take me longer to get to London by car than fly to Paris from Liverpool. Probably enjoy the train though

So no amount of rooting with Grant Shapps worked for you eh, you must be gutted.
Still next review is end of the summer period just as we get home.
Let's hope all Europe turns red to protect next season

Having booked a holiday in Spain for Christmas, upon review we are going to cancel it. Mrs Ash and I believe as things stand the likelihood and potential consequences for us of having to remain in Spain if one of us tests positive before our return flight outweigh any benefits of the holiday. Mrs Ash has work commitments and has to inform her employer if travelling overseas. Our kid would be due back in school. Etc etc. The problem being that although we adults are both double vaccinated all that needs to happen is a positive Covid test while in Spain for us to be held back until a negative test is achieved. We have decided it isn’t worth it. What’s more, personally, I believe that although us double vaccinated will be immune to the extreme symptoms of Covid, it won’t prevent us from being infected or prevent us from showing positive when tested in Spain before the return journey.

My expectation is there will be a lot of infected people about, both here in the UK and abroad in Spain.
