Again - I want to thank you all very kindly for your kind advice - we have booked the English test for February - 13,000 pesos blimey NOT CHEAP and the jabs for the end of the month. Two things, IS the test hard any clues as to what to expect? My wife is pretty fluent, she was just wondering. ALSO, IS it neccesary to fast track things and pay the extra £500 whats the difference if you don't (time-frames etc). cheers Jimmy
The exam is very easy. I have booked using british council and the website have sample test you can download for practise. You dont have to pay the extra £500 but it is enough for my peace of mind. The £500 allows for a decision within 10 working days (or 14 calendar days) while the normal one is within the normal processing time (the ukvi provides an updated statistics on the ave processing times) depending on the number of application being processed at that time.
Blimey 13,000 is that the IELTS Life Skills A1? When I took that last October that was 10,000 PHP. Your wife could check with the IDP or BC page they provide free test samples so she will know what to expect. But I can guarantee it's very easy. She could just close her eyes during the test As for paying for the extra £500 if both of you are impatient and not keen on waiting for a longer period then I'd suggest you go for that, if you don't mind paying for it too. In my case I'm very impatient and wish to have gone for priority but we can't afford to spare another £500 so we'll have to be patient. As stated priority usually takes 10-15 working days and for non priority it will take 60 working days
Biometrics you mean? She'll do that when it's time to hand the documents at the VFS on the day of her appointment.
Hi Jimmy non priority applications can take upto 60 days as per the guidelines on the site, however as many have said it depends how busy everyone is, I reckon a lot depends on the quality of the information you supply and how straightforward the application.Ours took 20 days only spouse visa non priority.
Sorry folks - one last thing the TB jab fee is that 3,000 peso's - im just doing my budgets - thank you
Yes a little over Php3000 and can be done at IOM Manila. https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...pines/tuberculosis-testing-in-the-philippines
Hello brothers and sisters. This is the situation. I am due to arrive on the 2nd March. There has been a big delay in new passport distribution and we have been put back until the end of this month - (she had to cancel them) which means ?????? I have all the docs ready, BUT she cant do the TB and English tests until she gets the passport. Then we only have 28 days to lodge everyone before the cut off date for the docs runs out. SO, Do I do the online app with her and PAY the fee BEFORE she does the others things or is that a waste of time??? Things are being cut VERY fine and I'm thinking now it wont happen and me being there for all this will collapse. thanks again folks. Jimmy
well she didn't tell me that would be enough - apparently - she needed the passport - so i assume not. (I take it you mean for the tests). I'm sure they would have asked her that.
